My pursuit in medicine was inspired by my physician father. My  journey began at UC Irvine where I graduated wtih a double major in neurobiology and comparative literature achieving honors in both. I continued at UCI earning my medical degree in 2008 and where my first experience with Hoag began as a clinical care extender. I completed my dual residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center before accepting a position as a founding member with Hoag Medical Group where I have been practicing  for the past 12 years. 

During my time as a physician, I witnessed firsthand the struggles patients endured with our current healthcare system. Having been on the “other side” as a patient during my own cancer journey, I came face-to-face with how vulnerable a disease process can make you and how prognosis can deeply affect your mental health.  I understand the importance of being listened to, validated, and partnered with to discover your unique treatment plan. Valuing decades of scientific research and keeping up with the latest medical advancements, I also work closely with the patient considering other forms of alternative medicine. 

I frequently get asked which specialty I like more. Laughingly I would tell you, “Baby giggles, teen eye-rolls, and adult conversations, why should I choose? I get the best of every age!”  My best memories are watching my patients grow while also expanding my practice to include their spouses, children, and even grandparents!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and sons, Alex and Anthony. You will often find me cheering  on the sidelines during their soccer games or planning the next country to visit on a future vacation. I enjoy my work in the local community whether it be as a Sunday school teacher for the past 20 years, member of  two different parent teacher associations, or  president of the Mission Viejo Lion’s Heart Chapter.
